Edward Joseph Dwyer, Jr., son of Edward Joseph and Margaret (O'Keefe) Dwyer was born on February 17, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey. Ed entered into eternal peace on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years. Ed's early life was spent in Newark, NJ, Ponca City, OK and Wichita, KS. As a young man he served his church as an altar boy and was also an Eagle Scout. He graduated from St. Mary High School in Wichita, KS. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country from 1946-1948. Upon receiving his honorary discharge from the service he returned to Wichita to complete his college education. He was united in marriage to Mary Cigainero in 1948. The couple enjoyed many years together until Mary's passing in 1974. On May 23, 1975 he was united in marriage to Ruth Ginger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shenandoah. The couple continued to reside in Shenandoah. During his working years Ed was a salesman for Derby Oil, Sinclair Oil and Skelly Oil. He was later a Personnel Director for Henry Fields. Church. He was the oldest and most avid golfer at the American Legion Country Club and had earned four "Hole In One" trophies. He also enjoyed playing cards at the Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Dwyer and sister Peggy Callahan. Those left to honor his memory include his wife Ruth Dwyer; daughters Patty Mosher, Kathy Cox and husband Bill, Jean Piech and husband Jim, Margaret Burns and husband Dean, Coronne Scott and husband Scott, Milicin Ullerich and Stacey Ginger and husband Frank; son Mike Dwyer and wife Lisa; sister Eileen Connell; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nephew Ed Callahan; other family and a host of friends. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Shenandoah Healthcare Foundation.
