Amy Bernice Burrington, one of seven children of Hilma Emelia (Falk) and Frank Leonard Theodore Anderson, was born on September 14, 1923 in Maple, Wisconsin. She spent her childhood in the Bethesda area and other rural areas of Page and Montgomery Counties in Iowa. In 1941, Amy graduated from Elliott High School in Elliott, Iowa. She attended Red Oak Junior College in Red Oak, Iowa until the doors closed due to the war. Amy was united in marriage to Gilbert Sylvester Hall on November 4, 1950. This union was blessed with daughters, Beverly, Connie, and Debra. A son, David Lynn, was stillborn. They later divorced. Amy and James Arthur Burrington were married on November 20, 1959. This union was blessed with a daughter Elaine. They later divorced after 24 years of marriage. Amy held several jobs throughout her life. She worked at the Stanton Grocery, Red Oak Carbon Plant, Henningsen's Egg Plant in Malvern, and lastly at the Glenwood Resource Center. She retired after 16 ½ years of employment. ily and friends. When Amy's health began to decline, she moved to her daughter's home in Glenwood. In October 2012, Amy moved to the Hospice with Heart in Glenwood and passed away there on December 18, 2012 at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 4 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son David Hall; brothers, Dale, Ivan, and Wayne Anderson; and sisters, Luella Chereck, Gayle Perkins, and Irene Harris. Amy is survived by her daughters, Beverly Lemonds and husband John, and Connie Moore and husband Gary, all of Tabor, IA, Debra Gage and husband Denzil, and Elaine Barns and husband Brett, all of Glenwood; grandchildren, Gretchen Madison and husband Roger of Thurman, IA, Trent Moore and wife Mandy of Randolph, IA, Jason Lemonds and wife Stephanie of Tabor, Tracy Loghry and husband Randy of Glenwood, Jeremiah Barns and wife Becky of Council Bluffs, IA, Caleb Barns of Glenwood, Josh Gage and wife Samantha of Auburn, NE, and Marty Gage of Glenwood; great grandchildren, Tiffany Madison, Elizabeth Madison, Meaghan Madison, Nicholas Madison, Colton Moore, Malea Moore, Anna Lemonds, Jesse Lemonds, Isaac Lemonds, Rhett Lemonds, Wyatt Lemonds, Christian Gage, Cameron Gage, Kylie Gage, Layton Manz, Logan Manz, and Timothy Jennings; one great-great grandchild Hayden Arms; other relatives; and many friends. Interment in the Hastings Cemetery. Memorials suggested to Hospice with Heart - Glenwood or Tabor Fire & Rescue. Loess Hills Funeral Home of Malvern in charge of arrangements.
