Dr. Curtis James Flanagan, 91, died after a brief illness Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, Dr. Curt Flanagan was a true renaissance man. Physician, soldier, scientist, artist, linguist, athlete, businessman, and prominent pathologist, he lived and practiced medicine in South Florida for over forty years and was affiliated with several South Florida hospitals. Born in San Francisco on September 28, 1921, Dr. Flanagan attended University of California at Berkeley and received his medical training from Saint Louis University, Harvard University and University of Miami. He was commissioned in WWII as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served in Europe. He is predeceased by his loving wife Marie. Father of Mark Flanagan, John Flanagan, Robert Flanagan, Billy Riggans, Sheila Riggans Love, and Ramona Hahn. Also loving Granddad to Emily, Shawn, Shannon, Virginia, David, Benjamin, Matthew, Julie, Laura, Liz, Bill and great grandfather to Mika. He is also survived by his brother Ted Flanagan.
