Ollie Ruth Collins, 89, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at her residence at Dutchman's Oaks in Dumont, Iowa. She was born December 11, 1923, in Dumont, the daughter of Jasper and Alice (Folkerds) Kriens. Ollie attended Dumont schools in Dumont, Iowa. She was married on December 26, 1940, in Allison, Iowa, to Halden Collins. Ollie was a homemaker and also worked as a cook in various restaurants in Dumont and at the Dumont Care Center. Ollie enjoyed playing bingo, cards, cooking and attended activities at the Dutchman's Oak assisted living center in Dumont, Iowa. She is survived by her son Jerry Collins of North Platte, Nebraska, son Jim Collins of Waupaca, Wisconsin, son Rick (Cheryl) Collins of Dumont, daughter Debbie (Ed) Mouw of Dumont, daughter Barbie (Jim) Morrow of Whitehall, Ohio, brother Harm Kriens of LaPuente, California, sister Marge Hemmes of Hampton, sister Mary Burkett of Dumont, sister Shirley Evans of Dumont, ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Ollie is preceded in death by her husband Halden Collins, grandson Kevin Collins, great grandson Brandon Ayers, daughter-in-laws Diana Collins and Jackie Collins, brothers Jo...[more]
