Dolores Anne Garst

Dolores Anne (Brechwald) Garst passed away December 29th, 2012. Dolores Anne Brechwald was born June 1st, 1931 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. On July 7th, 1951 she was united in marriage to Edward "Rusty" Garst. The couple had five children, Dan Garst of Fort Dodge, Sam Garst of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Andy Garst of Fort Dodge, Frances Garst-Kittleson of Decorah, Iowa and Nick Garst of Fort Dodge; 8 grandchildren, Ashley Garst, Emily Garst, Jacob Garst, Alex Kittleson, Clara Kittleson, Madison Garst, Remington Garst, and Harrison Garst. She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob & Fannie Brechwald and her husband. Dolores was a lifelong resident of Fort Dodge who believed in giving back to the community, supporting the visual and performing arts and preserving Iowa's Natural Heritage for future generations. She was a strong proponent of reading and education. Memorials may be directed to the Fort Dodge Public Library. A Celebration of Her Life will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Willow Ridge Golf Course and Restaurant, Fort Dodge.[more]
