KATHLEEN "KAY" ZETLER MUSCATINE, Iowa - Kathleen "Kay" Muriel Zetler, 87, of Muscatine, died on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Carrington Place. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery at a later date. Reverend Dan Schoepf of Calvary Church and Reverend Jerry Phillips of Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church will co-officiate. Visitation will be for 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church or the Muscatine Art Center. Kay was born on September 3, 1925, in Muscatine, the daughter of George and Helen Morse McCaffrey. Her first marriage was to Oscar D. Schmidt and her second marriage was to Jack Zetler; both of whom preceded her in death. She worked as the secretary at the Muscatine Art Center, and before that, she worked at the Muscatine County Relief Office. She was a member of Calvary Church and the Kilpeck Friends Church. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Terrill 'Terry' Schmidt of Pueblo, Colorado, Pam Knott and husband, Mike, of Muscatine, Michael Dean Zetler of Letts, and Patricia Strouse of Hermitage, Missouri; four grandchildren, Rob Schmidt and wife, Andrea, of Wilton, Troy Thomas of Muscatine, Emily Weaver and husband, David, of Perry, and Erica Eichhorn and husband, Eric, of Coralville; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Karol Strand of Galesburg, Illinois; one brother-in-law, James Zetler and wife, Patricia, of Jupiter, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one sister, Evelyn Elder; and two brothers, Richard and Kenneth McCaffrey.
