. He married Phyllis Suby of Forest City in 1994. He served 30 years in the Navy, from 1956 to 1984 and has been all over the world. He also spent 12 years at an electric company, after retiring from the Navy. Richard had many hobbies and interests, he loved to garden and create flower beds, he loved reading and politics. He was an active member of West Prairie Lutheran Church, serving on the council, and he was a member of the VFW in Leland. He was a strong believer in work and had a huge heart. He could find good in everyone and avoided arguments, especially in the dog business as part owner of Shiloh Kennels. He was always making changes and improvements and he loved the puppies. Richard was a very caring and loving husband to Phyllis. He loved his son, Joey and his grandchildren. He was a man to be proud of. Richard is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his son, Joey (Cindy) Disque of Seattle, WA; his grandson, Daniel Disque; his step-sons, Monte (Dawn) Moore of Forest City and Brett (Ree) Moore of Lake Mills. His step-grandchildren, Caitlin, Mariah, Riley, Jacob, Natalie, Michael, Becky, Cristy, Samantha and Darcy; two step-great-grandchildren, Marni and Drew. His siblings, brother, Eugene (Jan) Disque of Owatonna, MN, and sisters, Marji Balfany of Waseca, MN, Jenny (Bruce) Johnson of Waseca, MN, Carol (Jim) Heinrich of Medford, MN and Janice (Al) Schmitz of Sleepy Eye, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jackie; a sister, Vi Dietz and a brother-in-law Neal Balfany.
