tage of the booming seasonal real estate markets in both Chicago and Florida. He retired in 2009 from real estate but maintained his residence in Florida until his death. Dennis enjoyed boating and traveling. He served as a board member and Vice-President of the Coastal Beach Association (CBA) which was a nonprofit advisory board to the city council of Fort Lauderdale given authority to help develop a long term master plan for growth and development of coastal and intercostals water front property for public and private landowners. He was also a member of All Saints Catholic Church and a weekly volunteer at the daily Soup Kitchen for Men operated by All Saints Church. Dennis is survived by brother, Joe Herrity (wife, Jean) of Iowa; and nephews Brian (Iowa), John (Illinois), and Mike (Colorado). He was predeceased by parents, Joe and Barbara Herrity. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located in West Des Moines, Iowa. Final internment will be at a later date this summer at St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois. Msgr. Michael Hess, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, was the celebrant of the Mass.
