Doris Darlene Montgomery

Doris Montgomery, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. Doris is survived by her four children, Steven (Julie) Montgomery of Duncombe, Iowa, Darrell Montgomery of Otho, Iowa, Joyce (Richard) Kendall of Woodland, Washington, and Sharon (Thomas) Ham of Montezuma, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; she is also survived by her two sisters, Marilee Strasser of Mason City, Iowa and Lois Bauer of Garner, Iowa. She is preceded in death husband, Sherman; a son, Stanley; her parents; three grandchildren and a brother, Billie Pigman. Doris Darlene Pigman, the daughter of Robert and Alta (Slawson) Pigman was born November 20, 1928 in Hayfield, Iowa. She later moved to the Fort Dodge and the Otho areas. On August 20, 1947, Doris married Sherman Montgomery in Fort Dodge and she worked for Globe Union for 20 years. Sherman passed away on February 16, 1981.
