James P. LeTourneau

James P. LeTourneau was born on July 10, 1927, in St. James, Minnesota to Louis and Joanna (Johannes) LeTourneau. He received his education from the Windom Public Schools and graduated in 1945. On August 25, 1945, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served until being honorably discharged on January 21, 1947. On July 10, 1961, Jim was united in marriage to Joyce Handevidt in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with one son, Michael. After their marriage, Jim and Joyce lived in Windom where Jim worked many different jobs. He owned and operated the Windom State Theater, worked in the payroll department at Toro, DX Gas Station, and as the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church custodian. Jim also owned and operated Windom Monument for over forty years. Jim's health began to decline recently and he passed away on Saturday morning, February 9, 2013, at the Windom Area Hospital at the age of 85 years. Jim was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #206, Veteran of Foreign War, Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles Aerie 3891. in-law, Maynard Handevidt and his wife, LaVerne, of Jackson; one sister-in-law, Myrtle LeTourneau of Windom; two nephews, Louis and Jerry LeTourneau, two nieces, Mary Ann LeTourneau and Jane Morris of Jackson; several great-nieces and nephews; and special cousins, Fred and Doreen Rabbe of Trimont and their families.
