Bernard Francis Heller was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Estherville, the son of
Harry and Clara (Berning) Heller. He attended schools in the Estherville
area and St. EllenÂ's grade school in Emmetsburg.
Following his education, Bernard began working as a mason. He worked
for Anderson Construction for many years.
After retiring from construction, Bernard worked part-time for the Texaco
Oil Station. He also worked at SNC and at Emmetsburg Publishing
Company.
Bernard spent many spring days tilling gardens all across Emmetsburg.
He loved his garden and enjoyed the jobs he had throughout his life. More
than anything, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce, of Emmetsburg; daughter, Delores (Larry)
Hanson of Carlton, MN; son, Roy (Mary) Heller of Emmetsburg; six
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Cecilia Kollasch of Armstrong, Betty
Foxhoven of Spencer and Sister Mary Elizabeth Heller of LaCrosse, WI;
and four brothers, Vincent (Joy) Heller of Graettinger, Jim (Lois) Heller of
Spencer, Ray (Clarice) Heller of Milford and Leonard (Arlene) Heller of
Terril.
