Shirley Ann Tatman

Shirley Ann Schneider was born September 23, 1932 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Clara (Laubenthal) Schneider. She was a 1950 graduate of Emmetsburg High School. On February 4, 1954, Shirley was united in marriage to James Tatman in Graettinger, Iowa. The couple made their home in Graettinger where they raised their eight children. Shirley was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and collecting dolls. Most of all, Shirley loved to spend time with her family. On July 16, 2009, Shirley passed away at the Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Left to cherish her memory are her seven children: Taryn Tindall (Bob), Lorraine Koekenhoff (special friend, Kevin Stiles), Mary Enderton (Joe) all of Graettinger, Kathy O'Bannon (Norm) of Alta, John Tatman (Lynn) of Graettinger, Lynn Meyer (Brent) of Alta and Jenny Schany of Graettinger; daughter-in-law, Margaret Tatman; sister, Ella Mae Schuller (Clarence) of Mallard; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
