Kenneth "Moose" Stafford

Kenneth Eugene "Moose" Stafford was born January 14, 1920, on the family farm near Mallard the son of Earl and Hilda (Larson) Stafford. He attended Mallard High School. Following his education, he entered the United States Army where he served during World War II. On November 26, 1948, Kenneth was united in marriage to Alice Howard in Iowa City, Iowa. He worked at the Mallard Creamery before going into farming with his brother, Wesley. Kenneth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard. He enjoyed horseshoes, softball, ping-pong and golf. His passion was baseball. He was well known in the area for his long hits and many home runs. On Sunday, March 21, 2010, Kenneth Stafford passed away at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Robert and David Stafford; brother, Wesley Stafford; and his grandson, Joseph Stafford. Throughout Kenneth's life, his gentle love and kindness touched many who met him and knew him.
