Judy Kay Klemp was born April 28, 1946, in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Anton "Tony" and Mae (Brightman) Klemp. She was raised in Butte Des Morts, WI. She was a 1964 graduate of Winneconne High School, and she attended Oshkosh Technical Institute for one year. On August 6, 1966, Judy was united in marriage to John Davis in Winneconne, WI and they began their lives together in Oshkosh. Judy and John had two sons: Jay and Jeff before moving to Emmetsburg, IA where John took over as plant manager for SNC. Judy began working at Casey's General Store in Emmetsburg when it opened in the fall of 1981. For over twenty-nine years, Judy made the doughnuts. She held that position longer than anyone in the Casey's chain. Shortly after the move to Emmetsburg, Judy was instrumental in bringing the car seat program to this community. She also volunteered her time as a Den Mother for several years. Judy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in the Mary's Circle. as well known for her beautiful roses. She was always humming an upbeat song. She had a quick smile and an infectious laugh. On Saturday, January 15, 2011, Judy passed away at the North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John of Emmetsburg; two sons: Jay and wife Heather of Everly and Jeff and wife, Tina of Emmetsburg; two grandsons: Jack and Carter of Everly; sister, Sue Hoehne-Bate and her husband, David Bate of Fond Du Lac, WI; two brothers: David Klemp and wife, Mary Al of Butte Des Morts, WI and Al Klemp and wife, Colleen of Winneconne, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law: William "Bill" and Viola Davis; sister-in-law, Linda Klemp and brother-in-law, Duane Davis; and her nephew, Robert "Bobby" Bloedow.
