Ella Mae Evenson MUSCATINE, Iowa--Ella Mae Evenson, 82, of Muscatine, passed away on February 12, 2013, at her home. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Steve Cauley will be officiating. Chaplain Bob Ahlstrom will be presiding at the committal service. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Ella Mae's name. Ella Mae was born on October 20, 1930, in Storm Lake, the daughter of E. Gerhard and Anna Oswald Larson. On April 27, 1952, Ella Mae was united in marriage to Keith Evenson in Honolulu, Hawaii. She had worked as an RN at Lutheran Homes for 28 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was very active in the ladies Bible study among other church activities. She really enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities, playing cards with Charlie and Carol Christophersen and other friends every Sunday afternoon and was an avid Hawkeye fan especially of the basketball team. ...[more]

lla Mae will be deeply missed by her children, Lori Barker and husband, Kirk, of Muscatine, Scott Evenson and wife, Katherine, of Atlanta, Georgia, Craig Evenson and wife, Linda, of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Eric Evenson and wife, Barbara, of Coralville; nine grandchildren, Kyle Baker, Kathleen Nietzel and husband, Dan, Natalie Baker, Emily Evenson, Ben Evenson, Meghan Evenson, Dustin Evenson and wife, Heather, Lincoln Evenson and wife, Carrie and Vanessa Evenson; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin Evenson and Collin Evenson. Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
