Bill J. Sempeles, age 89, of Springboro, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 14, 2013. Bill was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on January 29, 1924 to John and Lillian (Schooley) Sempeles. He proudly served in the military during World War II under General Patton, Third Army, in Europe. He was a faithful member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton, OH. Bill demonstrated his hard work ethic in his profession as a restaurant manager for Howard Johnson's, Denny's and Walmart. In addition, he was a small business owner in Hamilton and Kettering, OH and retired in 2001. Bill was preceded in death by his Father, John Sempeles, Mother, Lillian Sempeles and beloved Wife, Georgia Lazares Sempeles. Also, preceded in death by brother-in-law, Gus Gretes, brother-in-law, John Giovanis, brother-in-law, George Jonson, sister-in-law, Marina Sempeles, brother-in-law Gus Lazares, sisters-in-law Bertha Agas, Donna Pizanis and Virginia (Sula) Rikas. Funeral services are Tuesday February 19, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton, OH with Father Mark Emroll officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, OH with full military honors. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm located at Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St Springboro, OH. Trisagion evening prayers at 6:00 pm.
