CRATON HUNT MUSCATINE, Iowa - Craton D. Hunt, 78, of Muscatine, went to be with the Lord, on Friday, February 15, 2013, at Trinity Hospital - Muscatine. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend John Brown of the Fruitland Baptist Church will officiate. Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren, Ryan Hunt, Damon J. Hunt, Alexander D. Valenzuela, Trevor Henke, Sydney Henke, Kaitlynn Hunt, Aleesa Foor, Marcus Foor, Julie Malcomeson, and Jodi Curly. Casket bearers will be Michael Snyder, Dennis Hunt, Lonny Hansford, Matt Hansford, Brian Alloway, Dave Dunker, Lowell Bass, and Ron Mairet. Burial will take place in Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the family in care of Sharon Hunt. Craton was born on March 30, 1934, in Greentop, Missouri, the son of Claire and Vada Bryn Hunt. He married Sharon Snyder on December 9, 1960, in Muscatine. e enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, and camping. He had a great love for his kids and grandkids, and enjoyed attending their sports activities. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sharon Hunt of Muscatine; one son, Stan Hunt and wife, Sherri, of Wapello; two daughters, Tina Stodgel and husband, Peter, of Quincy, Illinois, and Buffie Hunt of Davenport; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Noel C. Hunt and wife, Beverly, of Muscatine; and three sisters, Wanda Tomberlin of Texas, Patsy Finley of Letts, and Zelpha Hansford and husband, Bill, of Letts. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maxine Lenz; and two brothers in infancy, Junior and Melvin.
