Marian J. Schneider

Marian Joyce Schneider, 73, of Pleasantville formerly of Lacona, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. A Rosary service will take place Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Pierschbacher Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery near Lacona. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family which will be designated at a later date. Marian was born in Milo on April 18, 1939 to Walter & Theresa(Resneder) Klein. She received her education from Lacona High School graduating in 1957. She married Edward Schneider on October 17, 1964. He preceded her in death in January 1989. Marian was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Lacona. She was involved in teaching Catechism at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona. She also was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary. Marian enjoyed doing genealogy on her family, crocheting, embroidering and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. ...[more]

ian is survived by four children; Carlene Wing(Douglas) of Des Moines, Kayla Garr(Gary) of Hartford, Lori Mallory(Dale) of Knoxville, Tim Schneider of Pleasantville, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, three sisters; Roseanna Dittmer of Lacona, Carol Dittmer of Denver, Colorado, Cloreta Woods of Indianola and a brother, William Klein of Medora, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, an infant son, Donald and her step-father Bernard Barry.
