"Jeff, Steve, and Carter. It's always hard to hear of the death of a loved one, a dear friend. I have many fond memories of your family growing up; from the times we got together at your house or just the stories from your mom and dad as all of us kids got older and 'flew the coup.' I remember my mom (Mary Anderson) would tell how good it was when Bette's birthday and her birthday would come around they would get together for lunch and she would always say it was such a good time. We'd always ask about you boys and wonder what you were up to. Remember all the good times you had with her. Those memories will last a lifetime. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed. We are thinking of you and your family in this transition and wish God's peace and blessing on you especially now and in the days ahead. Take Care!"

Friend wrote on Jul 11, 2009:

"Jeff, Steve, and Carter and families: I will miss Bette, my sister & friend. Gone are the days: we prayed for you boys; chatted on the phone; we laughed together; WE PRAYED TOGETHER; we attended the Holy Spirit Conferences; we traveled together; we cried together; we shared God's Word together; we shared our family's news together; we enjoyed each other. I will miss Bette. I share your sorrow, kids! But don't where she is. Jesus was very real to her. May you take comfort in His love for her and in Jesus' love for YOU, her legacy. I will miss hearing her voice telling me about you. Love, Lois"

"Bette was a wonderful example of a mentor to fellow women. A few of us ladies from Toro had weekly Bible studies in our homes where Bette was the facilitator. What a changing time. Bette knew her Lord and she was a wonderful teacher and example of a Christian woman. She also has the ability to never make you feel inferior. There are EXTRA jewels in her crown for the many people who have come to know the Lord thru her example. She also was a friend to many. She will be missed by many, but, we do need to rejoice, as she is with the Lord. My husband and I extend our sympathy to the family. "

"We played a lot of football on that yard between the Witt's and Einertson's house.......Bette and Ken did a lot for Windom....Bette was a great friend of my Mom's and Mom and Bette became close friends after my Dad passed on. Bette told me to work on my temper tantrums, she was right and I licked that problem. These were the days when neighbors looked out for all. One final note I will never forget the day when my Mom called me crying that Ken Witt had passed away after bowling. That was when Ken was working so hard to move the funeral home into the old Post Office, which never happened.
