"Marcia, Mary Ann and families - Just now your mother crossed my mind so I chose to look for her on the internet and much to my surprise here I am as I am so sorry for your loss though nearly a year has since past. Though we never met in person some 30 years ago we were quite connected as she shared with me a great amount genealogy as we are connected through the Willison side of the family. One day as the time is right I would cherish the moment if interested to share conversation of both your mother &/or Willison information. "

"So sorry for your loss Mary Ann and Marcie. I have so many fond memories of your mom and dad at the skating rink. My brothers and I spent many week end nights and Saturday afternoons skating. Your mom and dad were so helpful and kind to us. My kids also have fond memories of your parents and the skating rink. I have a daughter that still loves frozen pickle juice. I think this was one of Millies' treats offered at the rink. Countless lives have been touched by you girls and your parents. Your family has given so much to the community and surrounding towns. "

With all the kids in Shenandoah every Saturday afternoon. Remembering Millie behind the counter selling pop and candy and everything else. Your dad Gabby at the door collecting the money to get in. Remember all the good days at the skateing rink. Remembeing the old organ that use to play on Saturday nights and your dad Gabby would holler out the speaker to slow down to everyone. However, I also have memories of her helping us getting and working on costumes for our batons, and decorations for our batons when we were in marching band, in Jr. High and High School. And recently, seeing her, she was always so gracious and friendly, even though she hadn't seen me in years. My mother Louise told of her memories of Millie being in her convertible as a teenager and so beautiful and also of Millie's parents operating an outdoor recreational lake with paddle boats and an island to jump off of and ice skating in the winter to name several of the activities. Admission was cheap and it was called Porter's Lake between Shenandoah and Essex back in the 30's and 40's. Now it is named Porter's Lake Lutheran Center.Gabby and Millie and now the girls and family operate Skateland on Hwy. 59 giving my generation and many hence safe, affordable recreation year around.She enjoyed amazingly strong health and vitality into her 90's and still drove. Thinking of you all at this time."
