Mrs. Lucretia (Peashe) Reid passed away on Sunday, August 30th, 2009, at her home. She was born May 2, 1930 in Franklin, Illinois. She was the daughter of Velma Chapman Rawlings and Russell Scott Rawlings.
She was a 1948 graduate of Burlington High School. On April 20, 1949, she married Harold Reid at Faith Presbyterian Church in Burlington, Iowa. He passed away in 2002. Through the years she worked at IRC, Sylvania, The IAAP Plant, and the Blue Cross & Blue Shield office.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie (Todd) Bentley, of Lexington, South Carolina; two sons, Dan (Chris) Reid and Hal (Cherie) Reid both of Burlington; six grandchildren, Jolie (Kevin) Hudson of Chantilly, Virginia, Erin (M. Todd) Shealy of Greer, South Carolina, Josh (Destiny) Reid, Kyle (Susan) Reid and Megan Reid all of Burlington and Jenna Reid of Vista, California; four great grandchildren, Tanner and Keely Hudson, Reid Shealy, and Addison Reid; one sister, Omina "Mike" Askew of West Burlington; a brother-in-law, Jack Reid of Burlington; a sister-in-law, Helen Rawlings of Burlington; one aunt, Evelyn Dodsworth; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Her husband, parents, and one brother, Russell Chapman Rawlings, preceded her in death.
Lucretia enjoyed reading and spending time with family. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Memorials have been established for the Burlington Public Library and the Chapman Point Oak Grove Cemetery in Illinois.
