"Have been thinking of you all today, wishing I could celebrate Elaine's life with you. I am thinking about the times she was a servant to me personally, and to our family, during times of crisis. She is my example when I have had people in crisis around me, I learned from Elaine, don't ask, just do. She and Mike cared for us like we were their family, they did the hard things we couldn't do. God truly used her in our lives and my prayer for you is that God's grace and mercy would strengthen you in the days ahead. I pray that that you would see His faithfulness and see His mercies afresh every morning. I pray that the example of a servant's heart that Elaine had would live on in all of us that knew her and received care from her loving hands. "

"To the Woodring Family, I did not have the honor of meeting Elaine but know she must have been amazing woman based of the way she raised her son Mark. I work with him at Lakewood TMC hospital in Lee's Summit. He is a caring, kind and intelligent man who possesses those quality traits identified in the biography and tributes for Elaine. Her legacy continues through her children and her grandchildren! "
"Dear Mark, Amy, Mark, and Anne, I am so sorry for your loss. Elaine (although I only knew her as Mrs. Woodring!) was a powerful influence on me during my childhood. I remember so many visits to your home for 4-H meetings and general silliness among elementary school girls. Many years later, I would periodically run into her and her warmth was palpable and strong. What a lovely human being. I'm so glad to have known her and am thinking of you."
"I have had the privilege of working with Anne at Prairie View Elementary. I just wanted to express my condolences to Anne and the Woodring family during this very difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. "
"Elaine will certainly be missed. She was one of the first people to welcome my family to Keokuk when we moved here many years ago. Besides taking my wife and kids under her watchful care she was a very positive role model for everyone who met and knew her. Whether it was serving with the PTA or KIDS PRESS or bringing over a meal during a difficult time, she was a friend who was always there for so many. Heaven is a better place for having received Elaine. Tim Patterson Family"

"My deepest condolences to the entire Woodring family. I have extremely fond memories from my childhood of Elaine, or Mrs. Woodring as I knew her, as she was such a great friend to my mother and our entire family. When my sister was sick and my parents had to be with her in Iowa City for extended periods of time, she helped watch over my brother and me and helped us feel like life was a little more "normal". I can't eloquently express how comforting this was to a scared 9 year old boy. She was a wonderful person and will be sorely missed by all those that knew her. I know I will never forget her. "
"Mark and Family, sorry to hear of Elaine's passing. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers."

I am glad that I got a chance to see her a couple of years ago when we lived in Des Moines."
"We are so sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. Elaine was a wonderful person and so dedicated to her church, family and community. She touched many lives in such a positive way that she will be remembered by many. We will not be able to attend the celebration of life, but wanted you to know you are all in our thoughts and prayers."
"Mike, Amy, Mark and Anne: So sorry for your loss, what a Blessing Elaine was to all who met her! We shared fun times in Home Extension, Harried Homemakers, years ago. "Mike, Amy, Mark, Anne, and families, We were so sorry to hear of Elaine's passing. We are also sorry that we'll be unable to attend her celebration of life service as we'll be returning from vacationing in a warmer part of the country. We will always remember Elaine for her outgoing personality and radiant smile, a and willingness to be an active part of various activities, of which at times, we were a part. Especially thinking of all those band uniform adjustments and trips, sports, family get-togethers, and just chatting - she will be truly missed.
