"I am so shocked to hear of David's death. We were great friends and had so many terrific experiences in the band at SBHS, marching, concert, and jazz. None of us will forget the trip to Europe for the World Music Olympics and all of the peripheral events, and shenanigans that went along with all of it. David wrote the "fight song" for our tour bus, and Red Bus is still the best! Rest in peace my friend. The world is a sadder place without you."
"My heart is filled with sadness. I have such wonderful memories of David in high school and I am so proud to say he was my friend. We spent most of our time laughing in school, what a joy he was to be with! I left Florida, and many years later, we reconnected through Facebook. I am so grateful for that! He brought back so many more memories we shared and made me laugh again. I looked forward to his comments on my page and to the little chats we had, even if it was through technology. He still touched my life, even now. He was truly a beautiful person with an amazing spirit. He was a caring and loving friend. I will miss him, his kind words and his friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with David and his family. Love you David!"
"We just saw each at the South Broward High School 100 Anniversary a month ago .. We were all in Band together, because of Mr Parson's leadership and David's talent , & others too ... The South Broward High School Marching Band & Browardettes received the Gold Medal that summer ... We were the greatest band in the world .... David father composed also composed the music. My thoughts and prayers go out to David's & his family , "
"I had the honor of meeting and getting to know David in high school. Although we never had any classes together, we rode the same city bus home after our after-school, extra curricular activities. I'll always remember David as a fun-loving, all-around nice guy. Catching up with him years later and learning about family trials and losses, I could see that the kind, considerate young man I once knew had grown into an adult version of the same. May you be resting well in our Savior's arms David. "
"I have many heart felt memories of David. He was the best first chair flute player in our high school marching band. David was so remarkably talented. We laughed constantly together as we learned our music and steps of pinwheels and formations on the football field. Under our leader Mr Parssons, the band director, we traveled through Europe and the Bahamas for competitions, performed many outdoor concerts and parades! We all were so thankful for David as his flute and piccolo could be heard high above all others to help us in rhythm as we tried to keep up. David was always competing at State and won medal after medal, yet he was so humble, loving and fun! David was in a league all his own with his musical talent. He was a huge influence in my life, and I loved him dearly. We always laughed and carried on and he will be missed by many. My heart goes out to his brother Fred and family with much sympathy."
