"I also remember when Aunt Shirley and Uncle Clarence were living in the country east of Bristow, Ia. We would all go and play in the yard, go in the barn and get in trouble, Uncle Clarence and Aunt Shirley along with my Parents would come out to see what were doing. We all will miss you Aunt Shirley. "

"I used to love riding Joyce's bike from Aunt Dee and Aunt Lucina's house to Aunt Shirley's when I was a kid. She always had food to eat and something to drink, which was important to a growing boy riding back and forth for what seemed like miles at the time. Plus that was as close as my mom and dad would let me get to the railroad tracks. Thank you for those memories Aunt Shirley. You will be missed by many but you will be greeted by Jesus. Romans 14:7-9 7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. "

"Mom - you are the strongest person I've ever known. Always there for any of us no matter what the situation was. Your love was unconditional. "When you look into your mother's eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth." I miss you already but it's comforting to know you are in a better place and no more pain for you. I love you!!! Joyce"

Aunt Louise wrote on Mar 19, 2013:

"To my sisters family: I remember all the times I babysat all of you (plus others). We had lots of good times. As you were all growing up, all the Sundays all families came home for Sunday dinner. Your Mom was a precious, precious lady, always looking beautiful, always loving all of us. You have all taken such good, loving care of her. I know how much you will miss her, but God loves her too and He will continue to take good, loving care of her. I love you all. Aunt Louise-Louise Carrison"

"Aunt Shirley and Uncle Clarence were living in the country east of Bristow, Ia. There was a ditch full of young saplings. At that Tarzan was one of the popular shows. So there were about a dozen kids swinging from branch to branch like monkeys. Uncle Clarance and Aunt Shirley along with my folks came out to see what were doing. I guess we might have shook them u a little bit. It wasn't long and the trees were cut down. We could have all had broken neck or something. We kids would do just about anything after we saw one of the others doing the stunts first. I will miss you Aunt Shirley a lot. "
