Evelyn Ann Harrill
June 23, 1941 - March 25, 2013

Evelyn Ann Harrill, one of twelve children of Mildred Irene (Grimes) and Willie C. Gardner, was born on June 23, 1941 in Trenton, Missouri. She grew up in Missouri and Iowa and attended school in Tabor, Iowa.

Evelyn and Lane Harrill were married and blessed with a son Joseph Lane. Evelyn's children, Robert J., Rhonda Lynn, and Robin Irene McAtee, completed their family.

Evelyn was a busy homemaker and mother. She worked for a number of years in the restaurant business, then in construction, before she was employed as a document scanner at FedEx for 15 years until her retirement.

Evelyn enjoyed traveling to Florida to join her mother and sister on their annual cruise trips, among her favorite spots was the Caribbean. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working word search puzzles. Evelyn loved spending time with her family and friends.

In October 2010, due to numerous health concerns, Evelyn moved to live near her mother and sister Linda in Florida, returning to Mississippi for a brief time in 2011. In October of 2012, she returned to Florida where the weather was better for her health.

Evelyn passed away at the Cape Coral Hospital in Florida on March 25, 2013, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 2 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lane Harrill in 2011; daughter Rhonda McAtee; and sister Lorene Rasmussen.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Robert McAtee and Joseph Harrill, both of Olive Branch, MS; daughter Robin Vail of Shenandoah, IA; grandchildren, Robert Michael McAtee, Charles Lane McAtee, Daniel Scott Harrill, Matthew James Harrill, Jacob Allen Harrill, and Emily and Molly Vail; several great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Cabella of Cape Coral, Mary Guerin of Ocala, FL, Emma Riley of Essex, IA, Lavena Smith of Gallatin, MO, Tressie Houston of Plainville, KS, Frances Gentry of Gallatin, Doris Johnson of Tarkio, MO, and Vickie McMorran of North Liberty, IA; brothers, Bill Gardner of Omaha, NE, and Larry Gardner of Salem, VA; many nieces and nephews; other extended relatives; and a host of friends.
