Marvin Lee McClure, one of seven children of Armedia Elvina (Bartles) and Charles David McClure, was born on July 22, 1947 in Pacific Junction, Iowa. He grew up in Pacific Junction where he attended school. Following school, Marvin worked for Lawrence Lincoln as a farm hand for a number of years. He worked with the Mills County Secondary Roads Department before becoming employed as a driver for Southwest Iowa Transit Authority, first transporting Mills County area clients, then Glenwood Resource Center residents to appointments and activities. Marvin retired in 2011.
Marvin loved going around "junking" as he called it, picking up old iron and appliances and hauling away. He also loved to mow for his neighbors and friends. Marvin enjoyed coffee with the guys and watching westerns on TV. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready to lend a hand. Marvin enjoyed calling the girls "Sweetheart" or "Honey" and could always be heard saying "I've got to get my work done so I can go out to chase the girls". He loved his dog "Baby" and his pride and joy was his red tractor. He especially loved spending time with family and friends. Marvin was a wonderful brother, uncle, and good friend to all who knew him.
Due to declining health, Marvin entered Select Care Specialty Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He had recently moved to the Glen Haven Home in Glenwood, Iowa where he passed away on May 30, 2013 at the age of 65 years, 10 months, and 8 days.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Denzel "Denny" McClure, Charles McClure, and Joy "Twerp" McClure; and sister Wyona McClure.
Marvin is survived by his sons, Delvin and David McClure; sisters, Ylanda "Sue" McClure of Malvern, IA, and Catherine Truhlicka and husband Jack of Sidney, IA; many nieces and nephews, especially Brian Truhlicka, Jen and family, who were a big help to Marvin; Becky Holmes, who grew up with the McClure family; other relatives; and a host of friends.

"What a wonderful friend Marvin was, I will certainly miss his daily stops to my parents house just to crack a joke or to razz us about something he heard in passing or just to make us laugh, he always told my kids his name was M&M and for many years he had my kids convinced he was the rapper (Eminem) He was always the first to loan a hand if ya needed one and was never scared to tell ya what he thought, RIP ole friend ~Til we meet again~"
