John A. Leonard
July 25, 1936 - June 5, 2013

John Albert Leonard, aged 76, of Wausau, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013.
He was born on July 25, 1936, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, the son of Beatrice and John Leonard. He spent his younger years in Milwaukee and Lake Mills, Wisconsin, where he attended high school. John served in the US Army from 1956 to 1960, being stationed most of that time in Germany. He was a skilled machine operator and worked for some years at Tritron Corporation in Milwaukee before devoting twenty-five years to his trade at Waukesha Bearings in Antigo, Wisconsin. He married Anita Haan on March 23, 1962, and they spent many happy years together in Milwaukee and Antigo and at their weekend home on Killarney Lake near Tomahawk, Wisconsin. In 2000 they moved permanently to Killarney Lake and enjoyed retirement together until Anita's death in 2004. Since 2008 John lived in Wausau in a loving, devoted relationship with his fiancé, Darlene Wiesneski. He cherished the many wonderful times with her and her loving family. Over the years John enjoyed many hobbies, including bowling, fishing and following his favorite teams - the Braves, Brewers, Badgers and, of course, the Packers.
John is survived by his daughter, Marina Haan (Richard Hammerstrom); granddaughter Sonya Jaworski (Michael Casserly Jr.); two great-grandchildren; his fiancé, Darlene Wiesneski; and Darlene's children Debra (Kim) Woller, Tina (Alan) Draeger, Scott (Megan), Randy (Cindy), Glen (Rita) and Jennifer Buhr, and Darlene's grandchildren. His great sense of humor and his friendship will be missed by all.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Anita.
