Osie C. Cook
August 12, 1932 - June 13, 2013

Osie C. Cook Sr., of Antigo, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Wisconsin Veteran Home in King. He was 80 years old. He was born on August 12, 1932 in Fernbank, AL, a son of the late James and Bertie Mae (Ayers) Cook. He married Carol Robinson on July 26, 1955 in Columbus, Mississippi. She preceded him in death on September 19, 2009.

Mr. Cook was a fireman first class in the United States Navy during the Korean War, serving from February 1, 1952 to November 18, 1954.

He was a welder and a heavy equipment operator until he started his truck driving career in 1973 for Schneider Transport. He continued his driving career until 2010 retiring with Karl's Transport.

Survivors include two sons, Osie (Deborah) Cook Jr. and Russell (Nancy) Cook; a daughter, Lisa Fisher all of Antigo; 12 grandchildren, Melissa (Rick) Dorn, Matthew Cook, Faith Cook, Tyler Cook, Ian Fischer, Emily Fischer, Kathleen Koutnik-Cook, Jason Koutnik, Kristin (Jesse) Maher, Daniel (Leslie) Westerhausen, Nathan Raith and Sarah Raith; two great-grandchildren Braeden and Becca Dorn; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Silvia of Antigo; a special niece, Joanne White of Alabama; and his canine companion, Pixie.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd, Herschell, James, and David; a sister, Louise Baswell; and a grandson, Colton Fischer.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Wes Jedras officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery with Antigo veterans conducting military rites. Visitation will be 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
