Peter S. Jagla
December 9, 1916 - August 1, 2013

Peter S. Jagla, of White Lake, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Bohlman Manor in Birnamwood. He was 96 years old. He was born on December 9, 1916 in the town of Wolf River, a son of the late Peter and Katherine (Skodinski) Jagla. He married Rosella Servi on September 28, 1939 Crown Point, Ind. She preceded him in death on May 20, 1987.

Mr. Jagla worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1935-1937. In 1940 he moved to Indiana Harbor and was employed by Inland Steel Company until 1942 when he joined the Untied States Navy. He served in the United States Navy during World War II being discharged in 1947.

Following his time in the service he worked for Yawkey Bissell in White Lake and then was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad as and Engineer for 32 years retiring in 1985.

In 1957 he moved to Fond du Lac and following his retirement he returned to White Lake.

He was a member of the Anderson-Sather American Legion Post # 524, White Lake.

He enjoyed deer hunting, traveling and spending time with his family.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan (Bob) Gress of Polar and Peg (Barry) Dalberto of St. Germaine; two sons, Rick (Gail) Jagla of Birnamwood and Ron (Dana) Jagla of Adell; son-in-law, Jim Martin of Wausau; thirteen grandchildren, Steve (Diane) Gress, Jeff (Amy) Gress, Todd (Shawn) Gress, Laura (Ron) Riemersma, Annie Martin, Mike (Angie) Martin, Lisa (Alex) MacDougall, Jeff (Juliana) Jagla, Jody (Jason) Cieslewicz, Amanda (Jeremy) Nimz, Brandy Werner, Jenny Jagla and Emily Jagla; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a brother-in-law, Joseph (Shirley) Servi of Antigo.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorna Martin; four sisters, Cecelia, Elizabeth, Josephine and Margaret; and seven brothers, Edwin, Fred, James, John, Victor, Francis and George.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery where White Lake veterans will provide military honors. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church.
