Jean Elaine Ellenberger age 78 of Ames, Iowa passed away Wednesday September 4, 2013 at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames. A celebration of life memorial service will be at 1:30 Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way Ames, Iowa.
Jean was born September 5, 1934 in Neligh, Nebraska the daughter of George and Fern Shapland. She graduated from Neligh High School in 1952. She married Dean Ellenberger on August 15, 1954 in Neligh, Nebraska. She and Dean made Holstein, Iowa their home where they owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware store for 24 years moving to Ames two years ago.
Jean is survived by her husband Dean, daughters, Linda (Brad) Hurd, Cindy (Jerry) Stamp, grandchildren, Jessica (Trevor) McGinnis, Christina (Justin) Oswald, Josh (Jessica) Stamp and Adam (Bree) Stamp, Zachariah Hurd, Christian Hurd, Benjamin Hurd,and great grandchildren, Isabelle McGinnis, Kael Oswald, Addison, Brock, Jax, Jules, and Aurora Stamp.
Jean was preceded in death by: her parents and a brother.
