Colin Nathaniel Larson was the last of the trio to enter the world that early morning of February 2, 2000. In the past 13 short years, he has been a source of laughter and compassion in our family. His tragic passing has torn our hearts apart. We trust that he is now in the arms of his heavenly Father, but he will be sorely missed.
Colin lived his life with tremendous energy. He loved to play games, especially if he won. He was quick to laugh or tell a joke. He loved soccer, Nerf gun fights, taking photographs, playing with his dogs, reading or viewing great adventure stories, or just hanging out with his wonderful friends. He was a "Who-vian" and a Harry Potter fan, but his favorite was Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. He had an incredible memory, and was an A student. He enjoyed music, and was in the band and choir. He was quick to show compassion when others were hurting. He wasn't perfect, but he was quick to apologize.
Colin will be missed by his parents, Steve and LaDonna Larson; his siblings, Grace, Wesley, and Tessa Larson; his grandparents, Ruth and Dana Larson; his aunts and uncles, Dennis and Nancy Reinhold, Gary Reinhold, Kathy Reinhold, Shelly and Jeff Krause, Randy and Manjula Reinhold, Cheryl and James Roberts, Jason Reinhold, Jonathan and Mary Kay Larson, Tim and Cindy Larson, Bette and Gordie Dean, Jeff Thomsen, Sara and Jim Wiegner, Andy and Jodie Larson, Sam Larson and Peter Duffin; cousins, Tonna, Nicole, Penny, Kyle, Mitch, Riley, Jillian, Brandon, Dustin, Cole, Grayson, Delani, Elizabeth, Elena, Emily, Macy, Karin, Jennifer, Erika, Nathaneal, Luke, Anu, Dumisani, Isaac, Anna, Peder, David, Micah, Zach, Emma, Jemima, Lizzie, and Daniel. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Nina Reinhold; aunt, Martha Thomsen; and cousin, Joel Dean.
A Celebration of Colin's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 304 Main Street South, Cambridge, MN. A gathering of Colin's family and friends will begin at 1:00 PM until his service begins.
Memorials are preferred to Colin Larson's family. A Colin Larson Memorial Fund has been established at MinnCo Credit Union, 235 West First Avenue, Cambridge, MN.

"To Mr. and Mrs. Larson,
I am a stranger to you.
I did not know your son.
But I remember hearing about this tragic accident when it occurred. As a parent, I always wanted to tell you that I too grieved for your indescribable loss.
Today I just happened to see a link to your son's memorial service and I watched it with profound sadness. Nearly a year has passed but I hope you will accept my deepest and sincere condolences albeit late. I believe anyone who is a parent, grieved over your loss that day, knowing it could just as easily happen to them. I know I did, and today I wept all over again. Thank you for your time and for allowing me to share."

My sincere condolences to you and your family. Revelation 21:4 make this promise, it says: " And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." What a beautiful promise, we all look forward, from our loving Creator, (Jehovah God, Psalm 83:18). May the God of peace be with you and your family.
Sincerely Yours,
Brandy Molina"

"We do not know each other but we have a very sad connection... Our son, Jamie McHenry, was on Spring Break in Miami and was hit and killed crossing a street to go to a convenience store to get a snack. It has been a nightmarish 10 months for our family. When I saw this article about your beloved Colin, I felt compelled to reach out and offer my sincere condolences to you. Our sons died way too young. I pray that you will find peace with this. We have not yet gotten to that point but we remain hopeful. God Bless You."

"I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to you. I know the pain of a broken heart. Our Heavenly Father feels our pain. Psalms 34:18 assures us that He is near to those broken at heart. He does, however, hold out a promise that in the very near future He will wipe out all tears of sorrow and pain from our eyes and death will be no more. (Revelation 21:3-5) He also promises to remember all those in the memorial tombs (graves) and restore them to life. (John 5:28,29) Until those words are fulfilled, may you find much peace and comfort in God and in His promises found in the Holy Scriptures."

"Only a couple of weeks ago, parents of the boys on Cambridge Middle School's soccer team lined up on the sideline to high-five the victors (BlueJackets). I feel honored that I was able to watch my son and your son win that game along with all of their teammates. I feel honored that I got to high-five Colin, even though I didn't know him. I DO know, however, that every game I watched, he played his heart out, and noticed how talented he was. I am so sorry for your loss, and my heart breaks for you all. What a gift Heaven now has, and he is safe with God."

Though he sings in the Kid's Choir, he's more interested in the drama part of it. Yep, plays piano & soccer! The only time he is still and quiet is when he's reading--which he does well and frequently! He's aggressive on the soccer field and at playtime, but is very affectionate and generous at home!""
