Robert Arnold Egeland
March 20, 1922 - November 23, 2013

Robert Egeland, age 91, of Huxley, Iowa passed away at Israel Family Hospice House on Saturday November 23, 2013. A gathering of friends and family will be 2:00-4:00 p.m. Wednesday November 27th at Palestine Lutheran Church in rural Huxley with a 10:00 a.m. Friday November 29th celebration of life funeral service at Palestine Lutheran Church in rural Huxley
with burial at the church cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley.

Robert was born March 20, 1922 in Slater, Iowa the son of Andrew R. and Olava Egeland.
He married Betty Eagan on June 2, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. Robert worked for John Deere in Ankeny for 26 years and farmed in Alleman, before moving to the farm he bought in 1956 in the Maxwell area. The family moved to Huxley in 1978 where they made their home.
He was active in Palestine Lutheran Church where he was a member.
Robert is survived by his children, Barb (John) Maier of Woodward; James (Diann) Egeland of Madrid; Deb (Allan) Kopaska of Polk City, David (Sandra) Egeland of Montgomery, TX; Daniel (Kathryn) Egeland of Winnetka, IL; grandchildren, Jonathan (Pamela) Maier, Christopher (Anne) Maier, Jennifer (Cade) Lambert, Nathaniel (Angela) Maier, Adam (Melissa) Egeland, Rachel (Tyler) Farnham, Amber (Kevin) Miller, Holley Backus, Bryan ( Jennifer) Kopaska, Kevin (Melissa) Kopaska, Andrew Kopaska, Kimberly, Heather Egeland, Camden, Kasha, & Daniella Egeland; 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, four sisters and a brother.
