James Thomas Heaney

Heaney, James Thomas (Jim), 65, of Hallandale Beach, formerly of New Jersey & New York, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center. Jim was born July 14, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY to John Joseph & Ellen (Cosgrove) Heaney. He is survived by his wife Sylvia (Llopiz) Heaney; son Robert Darrin (Michele) Heaney of Mooresville, NC; step-children Sylvia Maria (Jorge Capote) Arbesu of Hollywood, Maria Mercedes (Robert) Dutra of Plantation; Ricardo (Grace) Arbesu of Ft. Lauderdale; Ramon (Shannon) Arbesu of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Joan (George) Clarke of Brooklyn, NY, Kathy Curtin of Toms River, NJ, Eileen Fallon of Brooklyn, NY and brother Patrick (Diane) Heaney of Wayne, NJ. 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph, John and Thomas Heaney and sister Mary Taylor. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Fred Hunter's Downtown Ft. Lauderdale Chapel and a Mass will be held at St. David's Catholic Church 3900 S. University Dr., Davie, FL 33328 on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
