Joseph Thomas Udovitsch
April 16, 1920 - February 18, 2014

Joseph Thomas Udovitsch, of Antigo, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Eastview at the age of 93. He was born on April 16, 1920 in Chicago, IL a son of the late Matthias and Helena (Stampfel) Udovitsch.

Mr. Udovitsch served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He served in Air Force Intelligence providing the map routes for the pilots missions in Europe.

Following his military service he received his Bachelors in Engineering. He was a television engineer and developer of the Transistor radio for Zenith Electronics in DesPlaines, IL. He lived in DesPlaines for 47 years where he was a member of St. Zackary's Parish.

He lived with his niece in Westport, CT for one year where was a member of Assumption Parish. He was able to travel to Rome with a group from the parish.

He moved to the nursing home in Antigo in August of 2012.

He enjoyed golfing and playing chess with his nephews. He loved to play cards with everyone and especially liked to travel, having visited all 48 continental states.

Survivors include many nephews and nieces including, Matthew Udovitsch of Antigo, Jay (Rozanne) Udovitsch of Holly Lake, TX, Raymond Udovitsch of Lancaster, TX, Margaret Wanic of Summit, NJ and Anne "Susie" (John) Shaw of Westport, CT; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Udovitsch; and two sisters, Pauline Daye and Helen Meyer.
