Max unexpectedly passed away from internal bleeding February 21, 2014 in the comfort of Grandpa McCarthy's arms. He was born to Emerald Glenn's Adorabel and Nitro Steele Hughes on January 31, 2011. On April 8, 2011 Max made his way home to Muskegon, MI where he stole Christine's heart and immediately wrapped himself around her finger. Max was the first dog she had ever owned and was with her through all of the ups and downs in beginning of her adulthood. He was with her as she started her career, helped her move in to her very first home, rode in the first car she ever bought herself and even allowed Brian, her boyfriend, to move in. When Max first met Brian, he was a little unsure, but eventually grew to love him just as much as he loved Christine.
Max was only on this earth for three short years but touched many lives in that time. He was a therapy dog at Sanctuary at the Shore. His resident's loved his calm and gentle soul. In fact many people would comment on this trait of his. He had a very special temperament. Max was also featured in the Dogs Unleashed Magazine where they did a feature on him for Pet Insurance. Christine and Brian definitely got their money worth with Max and all of his crazy trips to the vet so he was a perfect candidate for the story!
Max is survived by his parents Christine Charlesworth and Brian McCarthy, his Grand Parents Todd and Shannon Charlesworth & Terry and Diann McCarthy, Aunt Tay and Katie, Uncle Cole, Cousins Ruby, Comet, Chleo, Riley, Cooper, Maggy, Carmen, Lilly, Archie, Diesel, Punk and Zelda, along with all of his second aunts, uncles, great grandparents and all of his friends. Luckily, Max was able to celebrate his third birthday, a couple of weeks before his passing, with all of his close dog friends and family for a fun winter hike at Hoffmaster State Park. Max loved going for hikes at Hoffmaster and is probably running around the forest and playing in the water in his Doggy Heaven.
Thank you for all of the memories Mr. Palskiis!

"Max -in your short life, its clear you brought much joy to your parents and extended family. Outside of the pure joy - you were also one handsome dude. Nice feature in Unleashed. I hope you have met my "Max" while you are running around and playing over the rainbow bright. The two of you I'm sure could have some good stories or "barks" to share about your parents!!!
