LaVerne Muraski
June 19, 1927 - March 9, 2014

LaVerne Muraski, of Elton, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 KTCR-Eastview. She was 86 years old. She was born on June 19, 1927 in the town of Evergreen, a daughter of James and Mary (Jones) Lambert. She married Frank Muraski on April 7, 1951 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1999.

She attended grade school in Sherry and Polar and worked in Milwaukee for 3 years as a mechanical inspector at Globe Union. She and her husband operated a dairy and beef farm in the town of Wolf River for six years, and in the town of Evergreen from 1958 until retirement in 1978.

Mrs. Muraski served on the town of Evergreen election board and was a member of the Leland-Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2653-Auxiliary and the Sparks-Doernenberg American Legion Post 3-Auxiliary both in Antigo. She was a member of SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church where she volunteered serving funeral dinners. She also volunteered cooking and serving meals for the Langlade County Committee on Aging.

She enjoyed time with her grandchildren and her hobbies included dancing, gardening, bowling and trips to the casino.

Survivors include a son Thomas (Linda) Muraski, Elton; three grandchildren Daniel and special friend Angelina, Jessica (Dave) VanHove, Rebecca and fiancee Steve Schultz; five great-grandchildren Cameron, Jacob, Morgan, Lexi and Clayton; two sister-in-law Donna Muraski, Racine and Emily Muraski Polar.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by six sisters Vada Martin, Ina Le Beck, Elva Spencer, Grace Schmitt, Pearl Arrowood and Ella Arrowood; a brother Samuel Lambert.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday also at the funeral home.
