Ernest T. Tomski
April 21, 1931 - April 3, 2014

Ernest T. Tomski, of Deerbrook, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his home. He was 82 years old. He was born on April 21, 1931 in the town of Norrie, a son of the late John and Katherine (Groshek) Tomski. He married Adeline Oldenburg on February 9, 1957 in Iron River, Mich. She survives.

He attended Antigo High School and served in the United States Navy from January 25, 1951 to January 24,1955, serving aboard the USS Hopewell during the Korean War.

He resided in the Kempster area, where he was an independent logger for many years, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of the Leland-Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2653, Antigo and the
Noetzelman-Boodry American Legion Post 377, Elcho.

Mr. Tomski enjoyed outdoor recreation most specifically, hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.

In addition to his wife survivors include two sons, Robin Tomski of Iola and Larry Tomski of Deerbrook; a daughter, Tami (Steve) Gruhn of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsy; and a sister, Lillian (James) Breeden of Wabeno.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Florian Tomski and four sisters, Virginia Chamberlain, Elgenia Kluck, Caroline Pozorski and Germaine Casper.

In accordance with his wishes no public visitation or service will be held. A memorial gathering will take place in the Summer for the immediate family. Burial will take place in the Town of Summit Cemetery.
