In loving memory of

David Nels Sundberg
April 2, 1958 - May 4, 2014

David Sundberg, 56, of Ames died unexpectedly in his sleep on May 4, 2014. Visitation will be at Oakwood Road Church on Thursday, May 8, from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be at Oakwood Road Church on Friday, May 9, at 10:30am.
David was born in Storm Lake on April 2, 1958 to Quenten and Mary Sundberg. He grew up working on his dad's farm near Linn Grove. This experience gave him a love of farming and Iowa soil. After graduating from Sioux Valley High School, he enrolled at Iowa State University as a student in Agronomy. After getting his master's degree he was employed in the ISU Agronomy Department as a research associate for 32 years.
David married his wife Nancy in 1989, and they had two children, Michael, aged 23 and Hanna, aged 21. Dave loved his family, his home and working with his hands. Working outside, fixing things, and refinishing wood were his favorite pastimes.
David is survived by his wife Nancy of Ames, children Michael Sundberg and Hanna Sundberg, both of Ames; his parents Quenten and Joyce Sundberg of Linn Grove; two sisters, Susan Sundberg of California and Jolene Renard of Iowa City and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sundberg, and brother Steve Sundberg.
As a show of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
