Elaine Elizabeth Artymiuk
June 5, 1938 - May 4, 2014

Elaine Elizabeth (Lang) Artymiuk, of Antigo, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Born on June 5, 1938 in Antigo, a daughter of the late Edward and Frieda (Loos) Lang. She married her high school sweetheart, Boris Markian Artymiuk, on July 6, 1957 at St John Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1988.

She graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1956.

In 1962 Elaine and Boris moved to Milwaukee and she started her career as a teller at Mitchell Savings and Loan where she advanced to Vice President. After her husband's death she moved to Summit Lake and took on a new career as a paraprofessional for the Elcho School District until her retirement in 1998.

Elaine enjoyed volunteering her time at many church activities and at the Langlade Historical Society.

She was a very dedicated wife, sister, mother and friend. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She was inspirational to many, empowering people struggling with life, many people thought of her as a classy woman.

Elaine was involved with the knitting club and card club. Her love for gardening led to her passion for creating crafts and attending many craft shows throughout the state. She was known as "The Wreath Maker".

Survivors include 6 children, Richard (Kelly) Artymiuk of Antigo, Loretta (Jeff) Olson of Hortonville, Gary (Linda) Artymiuk of West Bend, Debra Kerrigan of Minneapolis, Minn, Edward (Patti) Artymiuk of Waukesha and Andrew Artymiuk of Antigo; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Verna (Herb) Schremp of Mosinee, Evelyn (Jim) Hoard of Weston and Ruth (Thomas) Kostelac of West Bend; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Lang.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Lang.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 12:30 p.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home.
