Leo Bera
August 10, 1928 - July 19, 2014

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 11 a.m. at the town of Norwood Cemetery.

Mr. Bera died, February 4, 2013 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Fla. He was 84 years old. He was born on August 10, 1928 in Ackley, a son of the late John and Margaret (Prasalowicz) Bera. He married Beverly Zelinski on August 19, 1950 in Waukegan, IL. She survives.



He attended Riverview Grade School in Ackely and graduated from Antigo High School in 1945.

Mr. Bera was employed by Antigo Milk Products from 1946 until 1955. He then worked at Antigo Auto for 10 years until becoming a grader operator for the Town of Norwood until his retirement. 



As an outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking many trips to Canada with his buddies. He found joy and satisfaction in working with his hands, rebuilding car and tractor engines returning them to running condition.

In his later years he valued time spent with family. He enjoyed the comforts of home, living with his daughter in Bull Valley, IL in the summer and with his granddaughter in Miami Beach in the winter.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Jane (Douglas) Huckbody, Woodstock, IL; two sons, Gerald (Ruth) Bera, Stevens Point and Tim (Brenda) Bera, Antigo; six grandchildren, Shelly Zeinert, David Bera, Rebecca Bera, Darek (Lindsey) Huckbody, Aaron Huckbody and Carolynn (Rex) Runzheimer; six great grandchildren, Jacob Bera, Cortney Teal, Morgan Zeinert, Melissa Zeinert, Addison Runzheimer and Rhett Runzheimer; a sister, Verna Chervenka, Antigo; three sisters-in-law, Rita Bera, Greenfield, Katie Bera, Little Chute and Mary Ann Zelinski, Antigo; a brother-in-law, Edward Stasek, Antigo; very good friends, Bob Wroblewski, Antigo and Ron and Suzi Pellet, New Berlin. 


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Bera and Martha Stasek; and eight brothers, Peter, Anton, Joe, Frank, Raymond, Edward, James and Karl.

Rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
