Ruth Emiline Lucia
July 25, 1912 - August 8, 2014

Ruth Emiline Lucia, of Antigo, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 102 years old. She was born on July 25, 1912 in Post Lake, a daughter of Aloysius and Florence (Wilson) Schabell.

She attended Post Lake Grade School, was a 1932 graduate of Elcho High School and attended Antigo Normal School.

She married Willard Lucia on October 22, 1934 in Lanse Michigan where they resided for 10 years. The couple later divorced and she returned to Post Lake. She was employed at Langlade Laundry as a seamstress and later became employed at Chilton Metals as an electric riveter operator until her retirement. She then returned to Post Lake to care for her mother.

Mrs. Lucia enjoyed sewing and crocheting, making hundreds of blankets for area churches and AVAIL. She also had a passion for writing, authoring six children's books while in her 90's. She also enjoyed painting.

Survivors include three sons, Loren (Wilma) Lucia of Antigo, Gary (JoAnne) Lucia of New Holstein and Dennis Lucia of Mattoon; a daughter, Linda Frisch of Antigo; son-in-law, Bob Brennecke of Mattoon; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorena Brennecke; son-in-law, Ernest Frisch Jr.; three sisters, June Eisenman, Jean Kohnhorst and Iris Raith; five brothers, Elwyn, Lawrence, Norman, Clarence and Warren; two grandsons, James and Michael Frisch; and a great-grandson, Chad Brennecke.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. A grave side service will be held on Saturday at 10 .m. at the Elcho Cemetery.
