"My Uncle Cleo loved to fish and he had such fond memories of childhood days spent at the lake in Michigan. He often spoke about making one last trip to the lake. His fondness for movies began as a child when he and his cousin Duane would go to the movies together. He was the family film critic who couldn't wait to share his thoughts about the latest blockbuster. He liked to watch Diane Lane on the big screen because he thought she was beautiful. He loved to read and his favorite author was James Patterson. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. So much so that he would sometimes get in trouble for teasing the children in the family. Always a little bit of a stinker. He and my son had a contest the last several years. They would see who could buy the funniest birthday card for the other one. I think Uncle Cleo ALWAYS thought his was the funniest! He had a green thumb...especially when it came to orchids. I remember his excitement when my mom would surprise him with an orchid from the nursery. He loved animals...especially dogs, cats and horses. He felt blessed to have the opportunity to work at my aunt's barn and be around the animals. He would call and tell me he had the best job in the world. He loved football. I will miss him ribbing me about the Steelers this season. He was a Lions fan and a Dolphins fan but he loved to watch Tom Brady play. I know he is smiling in Heaven today because the Dolphins beat the Patriots yesterday. I wish he could have been here to see it and I wish my phone was ringing right now so I could hear his excited voice on the other end of the line! I will miss all the little ways you touched my life. All the little things add up to one big loss. I love you. "
"Hi Christine,
I knew your brother from Emerald Park. I took my mom out right around the time he left the first time. When I found out he was back I visited him a couple of times. He was so good to my mother. She always brightened up when he would spend time with her.
I was shocked to hear that he passed away. I know that he loved you and his nieces very much.
Please call me if you can. I would like to know more about what happened to him.
My phone number is 954-300-6951.
Thanks,
Dulcita"
"Hi Christine I didn't know your brother, but I search obituaries to leave the loved ones some encouragement. This one of the ways we reach people in our ministry. I live in Florida."
"Hi Steve, I don't think we have met. I am Cleo's sister in N.C. Did you know my brother ?"
"I'm so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May you find comfort from your memories, as well as God's word the Bible. Why do people we love die? Romans 5:12 says: "That is why, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." How loving of God to promise what is found at Revelation 21:4 which says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away I invite you to visit the following site for more on this promise; www.jw.org"
