Carol Mae Kramer
September 22, 1928 - September 17, 2014

Carol Mae Kramer, 85 of Elcho, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Langlade Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on September 22, 1928 in the town of Dupont, a daughter of the late William and Gladys (Quimby) Schoneck. She married Gordon Kramer on June 25, 1949 in the town of Dupont. He survives.

She was a graduate of Marion High School and earned her two-year teaching degree from Stevens Point Normal School. She taught at Enterprise Grade School and Elcho Grade School. She later continued her education and received her Bachelor's of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She retired from the Elcho School District in 1989.

Mrs. Kramer enjoyed reading, puzzles, canning and traveling with her husband. Her family was her pride and joy. She will be remembered for her exceptional cooking and baking, and for her weekly letter writing to her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Randy (Mary) Kramer of Elcho; two daughters, Karen Kramer of Appleton and Kay (Andy) Barge of Plover; four grandchildren, Kate (Nick) Deutsch of Littleton, CO, Allison Barge of Janesville, Andrea Barge of Wausau and Aren (Melissa) Barge of Boynton Beach, FL; two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Emma Barge; a sister, Beverly Fuhrman of Apple Valley, CA; a brother, Alan (Jody) Schoneck of Winfield, IL; a sister-in-law, Beulah Schoneck of Marion; and a brother-in-law, Donnie Krueger of Clintonville.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jack Kramer; a brother, Bill Schoneck; two sisters, Janet Krueger and Sherry Anklam; and a brother-in-law, Herb Fuhrman.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in the Elcho Cemetery. Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
