Elva Kernohan
May 29, 1922 - October 21, 2014

Elva Kernohan, of Wittenberg, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Homme Home. She was 92 years old. She was born on May 29, 1922 in Big Stone, Kentucky a daughter of James and Eva (Pennington) Fraley. She married Clarence Kernohan on October 10, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1985.

Mrs. Kernohan's family moved to Crandon when she was 12 years old. Over the years she worked as a maid having lived in a number of communities throughout Wisconsin. She moved to Antigo in the 1990's.

Survivors include two sisters, Cloma Schmidt of Wittenberg, LaVada (Chester) Gryszkowski of Crandon; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter in infancy, Shirley; two sisters, Avis Beaudry, Ivory Kernohan three brothers, Azel, Kenneth and Kermit Fraley.

Private family services will be held.

Burial will take place at the Phelps Cemetery, Phelps, WI.

"I also remember visiting Aunt Elva on our drive up to visit Grandma & Grandpa Beaudry. She had a joyous heart much like her sister Avis. Both are missed in my heart. But I know Aunt Elva is watching the birds with my Grandma in the heavens :)"

"i remember when i was little we would come to visit aunt elva and uncle clarence in new london. it was the best time i had next to christmas.you never know what to expect uncle doing push ups to what aunty would say i will miss you with all my love my girls will miss you aunty love ya"
