Norman Eugene Shestak
June 4, 1930 - November 7, 2014

Norman Eugene Shestak, of Pickerel, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 84 years old. He was born on June 4, 1930 in Dorchester, Nebraska a son of the late Leo and Alice Shestak. He married Dorothy Biderman on August 23, 1950 at St. John Catholic Church in Lisbon, Iowa. She survives.

He farmed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and in 1963 moved to the town of Price and continued farming. He owned Shestak Farms and Town Line Feed, Inc. He was a field agent for National Agriculture Statistics.

Mr. Shestak served on the Board of Directors for Langlade County, AMPI and Antigo Milk Products.

He was an avid reader, kept up on current events and politics, and enjoyed attending farm auctions and cattle sales.

Survivors include six daughters, Kathy (Dan) Waldvogel of Hugo, Minn., Debra (Greg) Heberlein of Plymouth, Karen Shestak of Antigo, Stacie Shestak of Bryant, Patty (David) Kowalkowski of Armstrong Creek, Mary (Dan) Cockrell of Altamonte Springs, FL; three sons, Edward (Chris) Shestak of Bluffton, Ind., Kenneth (Carrie) Shestak of Bryant, Andrew (Deana) Shestak of Bryant; grandchildren, Brian, Steve, Jon, Dorothy, Rosie, Michel, Sarah, Lucas, Jessie, Ian, Adam, Kevin, Craig, Brent, Laura, Sydney and Andrea; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Melva (Jim) Jakoubek of Fairfax, Iowa and Edna Kenslow of Kansas City, MO.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond and Richard; a daughter in infancy; a grandson, Eddie; and a brother, Loren.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m.
