Vivian Clara Straley
August 16, 1923 - November 11, 2014

Vivian Clara Straley, of Elton, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at AGI Nursing Home of Crandon. She was 91 years old. She was born on August 16, 1923 in Elton, WI a daughter of the late Leonard and Edith (Meeks) Clay. She married Edward Straley on January 28, 1943 at Four Corners Assembly of God in Elton. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1995.

She attended Hollister Grade School and was employed at the Superior Nursing Home in Antigo in housekeeping, retiring in 1986.

Mrs. Straley took pride in being the caregiver for the family. She loved to crochet and go for long rides in the woods.

Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie (Dan) Keso of White Lake, Jean Straley of Milwaukee and Brenda Kamuda of Menasha; six sons, Raymond (Pat) Straley of Mesquite, Nevada, Bernard (Vonda Lee) Straley of Bryant, Ed (Nancy) Straley of Polar, Jerry Straley of Elton, Tom (Jeanie) Straley of Bryant and Maurice (Marlene) Straley of Elton; 27 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl (Debra) Clay of Hollister; two sisters, Alma (Herman) Albrecht of Birnamwood and Ella Irish of Slinger.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheila Otto and Betty Lewis; a granddaughter, Linda Lewis; a son-in-law, Eugene Otto; five sisters, Gladys Vaughn, Marie Marmes, Blanche Miller, Jean Kaintz and Violet Sprinkler; and two brothers, Richard and Franklin.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in Elton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

A special thank you to the Crandon Nursing Home staff for the wonderful care they provided Mrs. Straley.
