Larry L. Wilson Sr. 79, born to Herbert Wallace Wilson and Delma Johnson, passed away at home in Jefferson, IA surrounded by family and friends December 6th 2014.
Larry L. Wilson was born on September 9, 1935 in Webster City. He was raised and educated in Webster City. Following his education he served with U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1954. He married Gayle Chase July 16th, 1960. Larry worked at Gypsum Mills-Fort Dodge, salesman for Old Home Bakery, Wonderbread, McGarvey Coffee, Owned G&L groceries in Somers, worked at New Coop-Roelyn; later disabled and he did part time shoe repair, was an avid flea market vendor, and a "Jack of all Trades".
Survived by his wife Gayle Wilson, daughters Shari (Brad) Guilliams, Tammy (Bruce) Binkley, Ellen (Willie) Millard, sons David, Tim, and Larry Jr. (Rena), brother Denny Spitler, sister-in-law Twila Benson, brother-in-laws Kenny Chase, Rick Chase, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delma Spitler, father Herbert Wilson, son Robbie Wilson, brother and sister-in-laws Lowell Chase and Leola Riley, and his best friend Don Riley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 10th at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Binkley officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Township Cemetery, Rinard with Military Rites conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
