Joyce Elaine Jankiewicz

Joyce Jankiewicz, 71, of Glenwood, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Hospice with Heart House in Glenwood. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Glenwood Ward, with Bishop Tim Jacob officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Glenwood Ward.

Memorials are directed to the family.

Joyce Elaine Harris, one of three daughters of Wilda (Harris) and Woodrow Harris, was born on April 8, 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from South High in Omaha with the Class of 1961. On July 28, 1962, Joyce married Raymond Jankiewicz in Omaha. The couple was blessed with four children, Lori, Julie, Alan, and Suzanne. Joyce worked as a teller for Commercial Federal in Omaha, then as a Unit Clerk at University of Nebraska Medical Center and Jennie Edmundson Hospital, but the most important job for her was raising her children and watching them grow. As her children grew older and had families of their own, she especially enjoyed all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joyce and Ray enjoyed traveling, visiting places like Branson, going out to Oregon to see her sister, and visiting their daughter and grandkids in Arizona.

Joyce passed away on December 13, 2014 at the Hospice with Heart House in Glenwood, at the age of 71 years, 8 months, 5 days. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Hughes; and grandson, Steven Lynes.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Raymond; children, Lori (Cliff) East of Pomerene, AZ, Julie (Mike) Lynes of Glenwood, Alan (Leah) Jankiewicz, and Suzanne (David) Mortensen, both of Council Bluffs; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Roberta (Bill) Howard of Mulino, OR; many nieces, nephews; and a host of special friends.
