On February 15, 1958, Glenn was united in marriage to Karen Rae Carlson at the First Presbyterian Church in Rodman, Iowa. The couple lived on the family farm near Rodman.

Glenn was a livestock and grain farmer all of his life. He loved taking care of the many different animals he raised, especially his sheep.
