Albert "Bill" Gartmann
February 2, 1931 - January 7, 2015

Albert "Bill" Gartmann, former Pickerel resident, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. He was 83 years old. He was born on February 2, 1931 in Marathon County, a son of Charles and Riva (Brodt) Gartmann. He married Virginia Sukkert on July 18, 1959 in Oak Creek. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2009.

Bill served in the United States Air Force from October 1951 to December 1954.
He was employed at Ladish Corporation in Cudahy for 40 years. He was a member of Baits and Bullets Sports Club in Milwaukee.

For many years he was a summer resident of Pickerel before making his home there from 1992 to 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Riva (Tom) Heron, San Antonio, TX; a son, William "Scott" Gartmann, Jordan, MN; three grandchildren Christopher, Ryan and Kellie; two sisters, Lois Kundinger of Park Falls and Louisa Torrance of Big Sandy, Texas.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son Albert Jr. in infancy; two sisters Wyni Milanowski and Marie Korosec; five brothers Melvin, Charles, Bob, Frank, and Harold Gartmann.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday May 29, 2015 at 12 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pickerel. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery where military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangemnts.

A memorial service will be held in San Antonio, TX at Grace Episcopal Church in January.
